Terry Bell

Terry Bell was born in Montreal in 1949 and grew up in the Toronto suburb of Etobicoke. For 25 years he worked at various advertising agencies, first as a copy writer and then as creative group head and creative director. In 1991 he became one of the partners (and Executive Creative Director) at Vickers and Benson, one of Canada’s largest advertising agencies, winning hundreds of awards for his work, including top honours from the Art Directors Club of New York , among many others. In 2004 he moved his family to Halifax and began to pursue his life-long passion for the photographic image. Terry is first and foremost a colourist with a particular love of the abstract. His influences range from Picasso and Matisse to Miro and Kurt Scwitters.
