Andy is a writer, photographer, meditator, and Buddhist teacher. He trained with some of the great founding teachers of Western Buddhism: Shunryu Suzuki Roshi, Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, and Khenpo Tsűltrim Gyamtso Rinpoche, He is the co-author of The Practice of Contemplative Photography: Seeing the World with Fresh Eyes, and the author of an earlier book of investigations into the nature of mind and the phenomenal world, Contemplating Reality.
