Home / Horst Deppe [100]
Born in Hannover, Germany, in 1929, Horst Deppe studied under Walter Kubbernuss. After immigrating to Canada in 1955, he joined the faculty of NSCAD University, later becoming Head of the Graphic Design Department. He has an impressive record of international exhibitions and is represented in numerous collections. Horst's deftly rendered watercolours reflect his fascination with the bogs and coastal regions of Nova Scotia, while his woodblocks are strong examples of a narrative expressive European tradition.
Sadly, Horst passed away in the autumn of 2011.
