Arnaud Béghin was born in 1964 in Le Havre, France, and first studied with the painter Lionel Verrier. He took classes through the City of Paris Evening Classes from 1984-1989 and frequented the Louvre Museum intensively. He settled in Le Havre (Normandy) in 1992 and married the Canadian artist Elizabeth Sircom in 1993. He studied printmaking at the Le Havre School of Fine Arts and made several visits to Nova Scotia. He had paintings on exhibit at Zwicker’s Gallery, Halifax, from 1994 - 1998. He won the City of Le Havre painting prize in 1994 and first prize at the Rouen Salon in 2000. He had solo exhibitions at the Philippe Frégnac Gallery in Paris in 2004 and 2006. From 2003 - 2006 he was represented by the Pascal Frémont Gallery in Le Havre. Since 2006 he has been represented by the Corinne Le Monnier Gallery in Le Havre, where he has had solo exhibitions (2008, 2009 and 2012) and been featured in several group shows. He moved to Hantsport, Nova Scotia in 2013, continuing to work with the Corinne Le Monnier Gallery with a solo exhibition in 2015. In 2014 he was selected to be a participant in the 2015 Sharing the View calendar, produced by Feed Nova Scotia and CBC’s Information Morning.
