Margot Metcalfe is a respected Nova Scotian artist with works in institutional collections nationally, including the Canada Council Art Bank, the Nova Scotia Art bank, the Beaverbrook Art Gallery, the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia and several more. Her work is in private collections internationally and has appeared in many publications and on book covers. Margot has lead creativity/photography retreats, and enjoys writing essays - especially on the arts.
Margot’s images engage her in quietness, and in the play of light and darkness. Ranging from emotive renderings of landscape and architecture, to studies of colour and abstract form, her works invite the viewer to consider what is being seen and to experience the moment of engagement.
