Both Ian Gilson and Laura Kenney use their works to assert their keen observations of the world that we live in.

Laura Kenney uses traditional Nova Scotian craft, rug hooking, to create hand-hooked, hand-dyed rugs/wall hangings.

Ian Gilson uses mostly found materials, whether wood, metal or other media to create his sculptural constructions.

Though both might be loosely identified as folk artists, their works have a level of sophistication and relevant narrative that elevates their work beyond what most folk artists are endeavouring to convey. Their commentary is often amusing and always compelling. Both artists have received plenty of acclaim for their ingenious work, and we are thrilled to be able to present their works together.
