Traditionally handlining is something an older person would teach a younger person. This image depicts two fishermen handlining. To handline you go two and a half miles off shore and fish for groundfish, using a heavily weighted line that you bob off the bottom. You can see Cape D’Or and Spencer’s Island in the background.
